Update re: the HEAR US Warmline (as of 4/2/2025)

We would like to inform you that due to the recent cuts of federal funding in California, the HEAR US Warmline has been abruptly defunded as of 3/24/2025. However, we are pleased to announce that the Warmline number (916-674-0041) will remain live through June 30, 2025, serving as a resource for connecting individuals to the 24-hour warmline provided by Mental Health America of San Francisco (MHASF) or, to connect with 988.

We express our deep gratitude to all who supported the startup of the HEAR US Warmline, which was established to serve the mental health needs of Sacramento County. Your contributions and commitment to our mission have been invaluable.

We look forward to the opportunity to restart this important service in the future and to continue supporting our community in meaningful ways. Thank you for your understanding and support.

What is the HEAR US Peer-run Warmline?

As of 12/10/24, SWS is operating a first of its kind peer-run warmline focusing on specific marginalized populations who have experienced true disparities in multiple facets of life, along with a lack of community-based supports in conjunction with evidence-based practices.

The marginalized populations of focus are (not limited to):

  • Peers working within Sacramento County’s Behavioral Health system, housing services, and SUD field, and;

  • Individuals experiencing a mental health hold or recently discharged from a mental health hold.

Drawing from our subject matter expertise as Peers, along with Peer employment and operating Office of Patients' Rights services for 27+ years, we are proud to be able to use our skills and experience to provide unique supports for individuals who historically and currently struggle to find the supports that are reflective of their needs and wants during very critical times in their lives
